Convenient, local optometry services are available for Veterans at the VA Outpatient Clinics located in Lufkin, Texas City, Galveston and Beaumont.

“Our goal is bring health care closer to where Veterans live and eliminate the hassle of fighting traffic and parking in Houston,” said Adam C. Walmus, M.H.A., M.A., F.A.C.H.E., MEDVAMC director. “We are adding more specialty services like optometry and audiology, and many Telehealth services to our outpatient clinics, but we need patients to take advantage of these services.”

“More Veterans than ever are coming to the DeBakey VA Eye Clinic for care,” said Eye Care Line Executive Silvia Orengo-Nania, M.D., who is listed as one of the best doctors in the nation in the field of ophthalmology. “By providing optometry services at our outpatient clinics in the community, we can improve continuity of care, shorten wait times, and promote quicker attention to medical problems.”

“We hope Veterans will consider the VA outpatient clinics as an excellent option for their eye care,” said Orengo-Nania.
