Disabled American Veterans Chapter Makes Sizable Donation to Houston VA

HOUSTON – The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) recently received a generous donation of almost $27,000 from the James T. Hall Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter #9 in Houston.

These funds will be used to purchase clinical equipment for several departments in the hospital. This includes 85 medical recliners for wheelchair-confined veterans suffering from Multiple Sclerosis, Lou Gehrig's disease, and debilitating peripheral neuropathies and receiving treatment from the Neurology Care Line, five patient lifts to move and lift patients during various imaging examinations in the Radiology Department, and a power protection system for several pieces of diagnostic machinery in the Medical Laboratory.

“We are extremely grateful for community organizations like the Disabled American Veterans. Members of these groups are committed to reaching out and assisting the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom,” said Tucker.
