PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS (APRs)

APR 8

Specific requirements for:

  • participation in the accreditation process and
  • maintaining accreditation

APR 8 states:

The hospital provides notice to its public that when an individual has any concerns about patient care and safety in the hospital that the hospital has not addressed, he or she is encouraged to contact the hospital's management. If the concerns cannot be resolved through the hospital, the individual is to be encouraged by the hospital to contact the Joint Commission by calling 1/800-994-6610 or by e-mailing complaint@jointcommission.org.
