Director statement regarding reporting for duty:

Your supervisor, with instructions from the director of the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, will determine your work status during an emergency situation.  Do not assume you are excused especially if your position has been designated essential.  Talk to your supervisor today about your status and how you should contact him or her during a crisis.  Patient care continues and your presence may be crucial to continued hospital operations.


During a VA-declared emergency:
If you cannot make it to work and are unable to contact your supervisor, then please go to the VA Employee Emergency Information web site to post information about you and your status in this emergency.
