Campus Traffic Alert

February 13, 2014

In order to improve our road conditions, portions of Mixon Avenue will be closed from February 17, 2014 until mid-March for road repairs. During this time, traffic will be detoured to alternate routes. There will be plenty of directional signage and security officers out to assist all drivers on campus in navigating the construction. The repairs will affect the flow of traffic into some of our parking lots, as well as the Valet, in the following ways:

• Access into the Valet Parking line will be through the use of the Old Spanish Trail gate, making a left turn at the control arm near the engineering complex, and following the road around to the cue of the Valet Parking line. The Valet Parking line will also be available off Sheehan Avenue through the Holcombe and Almeda gates.
• Access into employee parking lots G and H will only be permitted through the gate arm off of Le Capitan.
• Access into employee parking lots B, C, and D or F1, will only be accessible through the Old Spanish Trail gate, and making a left turn at the control arm near the engineering complex.

Again, Security Officers will be directing traffic. Signs and barricades will be around campus. This will cause delays, and employees, Veterans, volunteers, and visitors are encouraged to be cautious and allow for a few extra minutes during this time period in order to safely navigate these repairs.  Thanks to all for your patience and support as we repair our campus roads.  If you have questions, contact Police Service at 713-794-7106.
