Flu Vaccine Announcement

September 16, 2013

Flu Vaccinations have begun for Veterans at your scheduled appointments. Just ask for vaccination when you check in. We have plenty of vaccine and are encouraging Veterans to wait for their scheduled appointments to be vaccinated.

NOTE: It is important for Veterans over 64 years of age to be aware that getting vaccinated this early is not optimal. If you can return to your clinic in late October, the protection resulting from the vaccine will be optimal during the period of time that we expect to have Influenza (in late December, January and February). However, if you will not have another scheduled appointment by then, please don’t hesitate to ask for one at your next appointment. We don’t want you to miss your opportunity to get vaccinated.

Many questions about the vaccination can be answered by reading the Vaccination Information Sheet from the Centers for Disease Control. For more specific personal information, please ask your provider.
