Medal of Honor Recipient to Visit Houston VA

Recent Medal of Honor Recipient, SSG Ty Michael Carter, will be visiting the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical CenteR (MEDVAMC) to speak with Veterans and employees.

BACKGROUND: 

SSG Ty Michael Carter was presented with the Medal of Honor in a White House ceremony in August 2013, for heroic actions in Afghanistan.  Since then he has become a symbol of courage, not only to face the enemy, but also to encourage his fellow servicemen and women and all Veterans in need to seek help for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).  

MEDVAMC provides top quality health care to more than 130,000 Veterans annually; many of whom seek treatment for PTSD.
