Mission

The purpose of the PGY1/PGY2/MS Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center is to develop pharmacy leaders who are prepared to immediately assume a manager or assistant director level position within the Veterans Health Administration and eventually become a Chief of Pharmacy, VISN Pharmacy Executive, or National Pharmacy Executive.

Requirements for Completion of Residency

Successful completion of all PGY1 Pharmacy requirements
Complete all requirements, including thesis defense, for the Master of Science in Pharmacy Leadership and Administration program at the University of Houston
Achieve all requirements in the Residency Skillset checklist

Presentations to Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee

Salary and Benefits

PGY1 salary: about $46,000; PGY2 salary: about $51,000

Graduate from an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy program
Participate in an on-site interview, presentation, and clinical case review
