Mental Health Recovery Journey Through Art
Join the Houston VA as we celebrate Mental Health recovery through art expression. Recovery is about what matters most…individuals with mental health conditions live full and meaningful lives! All Veterans, their family members, and the entire Veteran community are encouraged to submit your paintings, drawings, poems, photographs, and more, for possible inclusion in a special Mental Health Month Art Display in our Auditorium and common areas.
- Project must be original
- Art forms: Paintings, drawings, poems, photographs, collage, flat mosaic display, needle work, etc.
- Size: Selected flat items 11 in x 14 in. that can be mounted on foam core will be displayed on the walls in common areas.
- All entries need to be accompanied by a brief paragraph to explain the role of artistic expression in your mental health recovery journey.
Selected pieces will be displayed in the MEDVAMC 4th Floor Auditorium and common areas on:
Friday, May 3: 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Friday, May 24: 1 p.m.–5 p.m.
The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2019. It is VA policy that your art work will not be perceived as offensive to any individual or group of any creed, disability status, ethnicity, political affiliation, religion, and sexual orientation.
