Coming Soon: A New Conroe VA Clinic Location
Veterans in Montgomery County, Texas and the surrounding area will soon be able to receive top quality health care at a new VA outpatient clinic location. The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) recently signed a lease that will move the current Conroe VA outpatient clinic to a new, much larger location. The new location will offer Veterans more specialty services and alleviate the need for them to travel to the MEDVAMC in Houston for some of their healthcare needs.
“Our new Conroe Outpatient Clinic location will allow us to bring additional healthcare services to Veterans closer to where they live,” said Adam Walmus, MEDVAMC Director. “Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for Veterans to receive our top quality healthcare.”
The new clinic will be three times the size of the current Conroe VA Clinic and its new location, at the intersection of Route 336 south and Interstate 45, is only a mile from the existing VA Clinic. Last year about 8,600 Veterans sought care at the Conroe VA Clinic.
“Our current Conroe Clinic opened in 2007 and the number of patients we serve and the demand for services out here has grown steadily ever since,” said Dr. Jason Biscamp, Medical Director of the Conroe Clinic. “The new location will allow us to hire additional medical personnel and add services like x-ray, audiology and optometry.”
The new Conroe Clinic will be located on the third and fourth floors of an existing medical complex. The VA will begin modifying the existing space to fit the clinic needs immediately and hopes to open the new clinic within the next six months.
