Helicopter in Gulf War

Friday, February 1, 2019

The Houston VA will be the site of two special Veteran Engagement Sessions aimed at gathering information from Gulf War Veterans and their family members.  Over two days, February 5th and 6th (2019), members of the VA Research Advisory Committee (RAC) on Gulf War Veterans Illnesses, will be in Houston at the VA Regional Office, 6900 Almeda Road, for Veteran Engagement (Listening) Sessions.  The sessions will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on February 5th and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on February 6th.

The purpose of the engagement sessions are to:

  • Learn from Gulf War Veterans and family members, about the health concerns most important to them
  • Share information about available treatments for Gulf War Veterans and ongoing VA Research focused on Gulf War Veterans
  • Advise the VA Secretary of the Gulf War Veterans health concerns and desired research areas that are shared during the Engagement Session

Gulf War Veterans and Military Family Members can benefit tremendously from attending an engagement session. You can read more about the VA Research Advisory Committee (RAC) on Gulf War Veterans Illness at: Research Advisory Committee on Gulf War Veterans' Illnesses. Veterans who are unable to make it to a listening session in person, are welcome to call in at 1-800-767-1750; access code 56978#.
